Applications of Counter Flow Cooling Tower

Best For:

  • High approach temperature requirements (large cooling range).
  • Space-constrained installations (compact footprint).
  • Data centers (efficiency-critical).
  • Process cooling with consistent high heat loads.
  • HVAC in warm climates where efficiency outweighs freeze risk.

Less Suitable For:

  • Dirty water sources without excellent filtration.
  • Extreme cold climates without freeze protection.
  • Applications with varying loads where low pump head is critical.

Performance Characteristics

  • Approach: Typically 2.8–5.5°C (5–10°F) achievable.
  • Range: Can handle up to 16–22°C (30–40°F) cooling ranges efficiently.
  • Water Loss: Evaporation ~1% per 5.5°C (10°F) cooling range.
