Evaporative (Standard Closed Circuit) Closed Circuit Cooling Tower
- Design: The primary method. Spray water is pumped from the basin and distributed over the coil. As air passes over the coil, a small portion of the spray water evaporates, removing heat from the process fluid inside the coil. The coil acts as the heat exchange surface.
- Characteristics: Most efficient type, as it uses the latent heat of evaporation. Provides fluid temperatures approaching the ambient wet-bulb temperature.
