Advantages of Forced Draft V-Flow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower

  • Process Fluid Protection: The primary advantage. The process loop stays clean, free of scale, algae, and airborne contaminants. This reduces maintenance on heat exchangers, plates, and chillers.
  • Freeze Protection: In cold climates, the spray water circuit can be easily treated with glycol without risking contamination of the sensitive process side.
  • Reduced Fouling: The coil is easier to clean mechanically if scale forms, compared to cleaning an entire open tower system.
  • Energy Efficiency (in design): The forced draft fan, located in cold, dry ambient air, can be slightly more efficient than an induced draft fan handling saturated, warm air. The V-flow design allows for good heat transfer in a compact footprint.
  • Lower Noise: The fan is often housed within the tower structure, which can provide sound attenuation.
