Applications of Air-Cooled Heat Exchanger
ACHEs are ubiquitous in industries where water is scarce, expensive, or where process temperatures are high.
- Oil & Gas Refineries and Petrochemical Plants: Cooling hydrocarbon streams, condensing refinery gases, and cooling engine jacket water.
- Power Plants: Cooling the turbine lube oil, closed-loop cooling water, and other auxiliary systems.
- Compressor Stations: Aftercooling for gas compressor discharges.
- Chemical and Process Industries: Cooling various process streams and products.
- HVAC & Refrigeration: As condensers in large refrigeration systems (often called “air-cooled condensers”).
