Key Components of the System
This hybrid system includes all the parts of a standard dry cooler, plus the adiabatic section:
- Finned-Tube Heat Exchanger Coil: The core of the dry cooler section.
- Fans and Motors: To move air across the coil.
- Adiabatic Pre-Cooling Section:
- Water Spray Nozzles or Evaporative Pads: Creates the fine mist or wetted surface.
- Water Pump and Recirculation System: Circulates the water to the nozzles/pads.
- Water Treatment System: Crucial to prevent scaling and biological growth in the spray system.
- Control System: The “brain” that monitors ambient temperature and process load to turn the adiabatic system on and off.
