Embedded Fins (G-Finned Tubes)
- Manufacturing: A strip of fin material is wound into a pre-cut helical groove on the base tube. A special tool then rolls the tube metal over the edges of the groove, “locking” or “embedding” the fin in place.
- Bond: Very strong mechanical bond, superior to L-finning.
- Advantages:
- Excellent resistance to fin loosening due to thermal cycling or vibration.
- Good for higher temperatures and pressures than L-finned tubes.
