Components of Cross Flow Cooling tower
- Distribution Basins: Open gravity-fed channels on both sides (no pressure nozzles typically).
- Fill Media: Usually splash-type fills (bars, grids) or film fills arranged vertically.
- Air Inlet Louvers: Large openings on tower sides to admit air uniformly.
- Fan System:
- Induced Draft: Fan at top draws air horizontally across fills (most common).
- Forced Draft: Less common, with fans at air inlets.
- Drift Eliminators: Located above fill, prevent water droplet escape.
