Forced Draft Closed Circuit Cooling Tower

  • Design: The fan(s) are located at the air inlet, pushing ambient air horizontally through the coil and fill (if present). The discharge air is expelled vertically.
  • Characteristics:
    • Fans and motors are at the base, accessible for maintenance.
    • Generally more stable in high winds.
    • Can recirculate moist discharge air back into the intake if not properly spaced.
  • Common Configuration: Often seen in “V-Flow” or “Vertical Air Discharge” designs.
