Cooling Tower Design Types

  • Induced Draft Counter Flow:
    • Fan at the top (discharge side) draws air upward.
  • Less risk of air recirculation; fan handles moist air (requires corrosion-resistant materials).
  • Forced Draft Counter Flow:
    • Fan at the bottom (air inlet) pushes air upward.
    • Easier maintenance (fan handles dry air), but prone to air recirculation.
