Plate Fins

  • Description: A stack of flat, corrugated metal plates (fins) is assembled with flat separator bars. The tubes are then expanded into holes punched through the entire fin stack.
  • Bond: Mechanical bond created by tube expansion.
  • Advantages:
    • Extremely compact and lightweight for a given surface area.
    • Allows for multiple fluid passes in a very small core.
