Process:

U tube heat exchangers are developed from best grade materials along with the employment of sophisticated technologies in order to integrate them with superior inbuilt protection against damage due to inherent forces occurred at the time of heating and cooling vessel. To optimize the functioning of the exchangers, these are incorporated with tube bundles, shells, baffles, tube sheets and inlet & outlet plenum. This system is highly protected even under extreme thermal cycling, when one bundle is free to float at one end. However, to address the very basic of needs for industrial heating and cooling applications, the Model BWS and BW U-Tube heat exchangers offer highly standardized construction at a very attractive price. The BWS is designed for water-to-steam, while the BW is built for water-to-water service. Two and four pass designs are common because the fluid can enter and exit on the same side. This makes construction much simpler. There are often baffles directing flow through the shell side so the fluid does not take a short cut through the shell side leaving ineffective low flow volumes. These are generally attached to the tube bundle rather than the shell in order that the bundle is still removable for maintenance. Counter current heat exchangers are most efficient and they allow the highest log mean temperature difference between the hot and cold streams.
